In a move that really doesn’t surprise anyone, the History Channel has renewed its popular series Vikings for a second season. It’s the network’s first scripted series and averaged an impressive 5 millions viewers per episode. The second season will consist of 10 episodes.
History executive Dirk Hoogstra released the following statement, “Vikings is a win win for us,” . ”As our first scripted series, it has paid off in a big way with critical acclaim, strong ratings and a passionate, loyal fan base. It came out of the gate strong and has stayed on top, solidifying History as a major player in the scripted genre, just as we are in reality. We could not be more proud of the entire cast and crew and everyone involved.”
